ALL KARMA, ALL THE TIME May 31st, Vancouver. First day of the tour was ‘karma day’! Lamaji did a great interview with “Conscious Living” radio – the presenters seemed to know a lot about Buddhism, so asked some wonderful questions about karma and the ‘self.’ |

We then went to the beautiful Vogue Theatre where Lamaji pretended to be Spinal Tap losing their way to the stage through the long winding corridors of backstage! (Check out Lamaji’s name on the sign!)
The deep karmic teachings continued to a large and happy crowd. Lamaji examined ‘real causality’ through the wonderful example of whether hard work is the true cause of money: The definition of a ’cause’ is something that brings about the same result all the time for everybody ~ so is hard work the true cause of money? Lamaji used the example of people working in rice-fields for 12 hours a day and not having enough money to live. He explained that the real cause of money is generosity, seeing yourself giving to others. |
“If you’re generous you can work and you will receive money, if you’re generous you can not work, and the money will find another delivery system. But then we mistake the delivery system for the cause itself.”
Lamaji named this verse from the Yoga Sutra as the most important verse of the night:
“In ignorance we misunderstand our world. Things that cannot last, things
which are unclean, and painful, and which are not themselves, seem to us as
if they will last, and as if they were clean, and pleasant, and very much
themselves. (2.5)”
