RUNNING A CAR BOMB INTO YOUR SELF CHERISHING: THE RADICAL TECHNIQUES OF LOJONG April 12, 7:30-9:30 PM FREE! By Donation Only Watch Live: Location: Contact: |
LA’s homegrown guru, Ven. Marut goes ballistic on suffering with, Running a Car Bomb Into Your Self-Cherishing: The Radical Techniques of Lojong. In this talk Ven. Marut explodes the transformative potential of the Tibetan Buddhist technique known as lojong. The literal translation of lojong is “mind training.” However, in Tibet the place of the mind is considered to be at the heart. A more enlightened translation for lojong would be “developing the good heart.” The powerful practice of lojong combats our selfishness, demolishes our pride, and transforms our anger into an unconquerable force of love. We emerge from the practice with a deep feeling of relief when we realize that we are not powerless in the face of our own and others’ suffering.
Ven. Marut’s presentation flows with warmth and wit between simple common sense and the most esoteric brainbusters of Tibetan Buddhist philosophy. Internationally known for his unique ability to connect ancient Eastern traditions with practical applications to Western life, Ven. Marut delivers comprehensive spiritual tools for immediate transformation.

DIVINE MADNESS: Sitting at the Feet of the Master
Cindy Lee explores the peaks and pitfalls of finding and serving a spiritual Teacher. This journey is traditionally known as bhakti yoga or “the path of devotion,” and is often considered to be the fastest path to liberation. But with greater speed comes higher risk, and the process of surrendering to a “guru” or teacher is often greatly misunderstood. Cindy Lee uses the life stories of some of the greatest devotees, the Mahasiddhas, to illuminates how bhakti yoga truly works.
